Brief Biography (English)

Dr Eric Tutu Tchao is a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Engineering, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana. Dr. Tchao has a PhD degree in Telecommunications Engineering from KNUST, where he worked on Analysis of MIMO Antenna Configuration Effects on WiMAX Networks Deployments. He is a member of IEEE Communications Society and The Internet Society. He is also a member of the IETF’s Special Working Group on IP over IEEE 802.16 (WiMAX) Networks. Dr Tchao is also a Fellow of The Brew-Hammong Energy Centre (KNUST), a Networks Consultant and the Team leader of KNUST High Performance Computing User Group. As a faculty member of KNUST, Dr. Tchao’s interest in globalization and technology transfer has resulted in assisting the development of B.Sc. and MPhil programmes in the Computer Engineering Department of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Dr Tchao is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow of the World Academy of Science (TWAS). He is also a winner of KNUST-MTN Ghana’s Research Innovation Grant 2015. He holds and manages a number of local and international grants. His research interests cover appropriate technology for development in the African environment, Optimization of Heterogeneous Fourth Generation Wireless Networks, Communications for Mobile Health and ICT4D. He has an extensive journal and conference publications in these areas.
