Guidelines on posts shared via the ASD communication platform/mailing list
1. Eligibility of Content
- Only events that are affiliated with recognised research/academic organisations, universities, or scientific institutions will be shared. These may include conferences, workshops, webinars, seminars, and symposia that are directly related to scientific research and development.
- Invitations for participation in research projects, collaborations, or surveys that are endorsed by credible research bodies.
- Grants, fellowships, scholarships, and other funding opportunities available to African scientists, provided they are offered by reputable institutions.
- Announcements related to policy documents, strategic reports, or guidelines that impact the scientific community in Africa.
- Information on prestigious awards, honors, and recognitions for African scientists, particularly those that celebrate significant contributions to the field.
2. Content Exclusions
- No advertisements for commercial products, services, or unrelated events.
- Exclude invitations to contribute to chapters in books or articles to scholarly journals, unless these publications are specifically commissioned by African scientific bodies or networks.
- Avoid sharing any opportunities that cannot be verified as credible or that come from unknown or questionable sources.
3. Submission and Review Process
- All submissions will be reviewed to ensure they meet the criteria of relevance, credibility, and alignment with the interests of African scientists.
- A designated team or individual will approve all content before dissemination to ensure compliance with these guidelines.
4. Content Format
- Content should be clear, concise, and free of jargon to ensure accessibility to a broad audience of scientists across various disciplines.
- All shared content should include key details such as the name of the event or opportunity, organising body, date, and a brief description. Hyperlinks should be included where available, as well as a contact person.
The above guidelines will be regularly reviewed and adapted as and when needed.
