Professor Wilson Nwankwo is an astute multipotentialite with excellent training and experience in computing, information technology, system engineering, healthcare, manufacturing and production, risk management, health information systems, portfolio management, project finance and governance, project management, budgeting, health law, and advocacy. With an indefeasible passion, he lead innovative projects to transform businesses, organisational and socioeconomic process chains through consistent and careful research, initiating, designing, implementing, and maintaining frameworks, policies, systems, and networks across various socioeconomic sectors such as international trade, oil and gas, financial institutions, manufacturing, environment, education, health, defence, and security.
Prof Nwankwo is a holder of a Doctorate (PhD) in Information Technology from the Federal University of Technology Owerri, Nigeria with a bias on Enterprise Systems, Business Intelligence, and Cybersecurity; Master of Science in Computer Science, Master of Business Administration (MBA), Bachelor of Science in Business Computing from Anglia Ruskin University Chelmsford in the United Kingdom, Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree, Doctor of Optometry degree, and a Higher National Diploma in Computer Science. He is a certified project manager (PMP), a certified risk manager (RMP), a certified quality auditor (CQA), an Oracle-certified professional, a certified systems engineer, a certified big data analyst, and a certified information infrastructure specialist.
Prof Nwankwo is currently a Consultant on instrumentation, control, and risk management with Stewart Intersea Limited Lagos Nigeria, a Professor of Software Engineering, Informatics, and Cybersecurity, and the Dean at the Faculty of Science at Edo State University Uzairue, Nigeria. He maintains a belief that every life venture is a project hence, displays a strong passion for leaving a legacy in any project or programme he is involved in and he always sustained this ideology over the years. He is a thoroughbred industry expert and prior to joining the academia, he served in various operational and strategic management capacities in reputable organisations contributing to immense growth and productivity through innovative process re-engineering.
Between 2006 and 2013, Prof Nwankwo held the position of Coordinator, Computerised Risk Management Systems and Solutions, Head, Risk Management and Information Technology, and Chief Technology Officer. During this period, he did not only pioneer and lead the development and deployment of a multi-billion Naira integrated enterprise risk management solution which was certified by the relevant authorities as meeting the policy and operational requirements but also worked as a Consultant on certification, valuation, and risk management for international trade as well as Trainer for the Nigeria Customs Service. He also held the following positions: Consultant, Guinea Insurance Plc Lagos Nigeria; Information Technology Manager, Ibeto Cement Manufacturing Co. Limited Port Harcourt; Systems Engineer, Pentrenix Technologies, Owerri Nigeria; Senior Clinician, Nosco Clinics, Port Harcourt, Nigeria among others.
As a seasoned project manager, Prof Nwankwo executed over 70 industry-based projects across various sectors with neither a record of failed projects nor a completion behind schedule. He is a policy strategist and has contributed to the development of over 80 policies across different sectors.
