Dr Duncan Kibo Boiyo is an academic enthusiast with interest in enriching knowledge, greatly impacting the society using acquired skills and knowledge in applied physics especially laser and fibre optic telecommunications, fibre-based sensors and renewable energy technologies. He has worked in the academic industry for over 10 years as a lecturer and researcher. His research interests are in electronics and telecommunications especially cheaper and power efficient solutions that facilitate robust fibre internet connectivity for the sparce and uneven geographical locations in Africa. Subsequently, FTTHut solution for African continent and harmonizing renewable energy technologies in powering these technologies. Moreover, he has interests in fibre-based sensors to monitor earth movements and vibrations in buildings to prevent catastrophic mudslides and building collapses
