Dr Isyaku Yarube is a Professor of Physiology based in the Department of Human Physiology, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, College of Health Sciences, Bayero University, Kano (B.U.K.), Nigeria. He has several years of teaching and research experience, and has supervised many research students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels; has published over 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals. His current research focus is cognitive impairment and dementia in diabetes and stroke. Prof Yarube has served as Head, Department of Human Physiology, Bayero University, Kano (2016 – 2018). He is a member of the Physiological Society of Nigeria, and is currently the Public Relations Officer and Assistant Secretary-general of Neuroscience Society of Nigeria; the Society Rep (B.U.K.) for The Physiological Society (UK), and also serves on the editorial boards and as a peer reviewer to many national and international academic journals.
