Brief Biography (English)
Dr Jarrad Wright is a qualified electrical engineer with a PhD from the University of the Witwatersrand. He is also a registered Professional Engineer (PrEng) with Engineering Council of South Africa and a member of SAIEE, CIGRE, and IEEE. He has extensive energy sector experience in 11 African countries. He is currently based at the CSIR Energy Centre in Pretoria, South Africa as a Principal Engineer predominantly involved energy systems operations and planning, sector-coupling, system stability, network planning, resource forecasting, storage, and enabling market arrangements. Jarrad is also a Commissioner on the South African NPC for the period 2015-2020 as appointed by the President of South Africa.
