Brief Biography (English)
Dr Francis Onono Wamonje's specialty is in Molecular Plant Virology. He is interested in the use of molecular biology, metagenomics, genomics, insect bio-assays and chemical ecology to disrupt insect transmission of plant viruses.
Dr Wamonje's current Research aims to use insect-infecting viruses to invent the next generation of biorational insect pest control tools and technologies.
He obtained his PhD from the University of Cambridge, UK, in 2017, his MSc from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya, in 2010, and his BSc from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya, in 2006.
Dr Wamonje is keen to join think tanks, advisory panels, and consultancies.
