Dr Viljoen is currently a senior lecturer in the Division of Pharmacology, and researcher in the Centre of Excellence for Pharmaceutical Sciences at the North-West University, South Africa. He mainly involved with the 4th year Pharmacy students (4th year research projects) and postgraduate students and researchers have done in Pharmacology, where our main research field is Neuropsychopharmacology. His main expertise is in high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis, with electrochemical detection and ultraviolet detection. He has other expertise is in the field of hematology and clinical chemistry. His main research focus is method analytical method development and validation of the measurement of biochemical messengers in the blood (plasma or serum), tissue, and urine with HPLC electrochemical or UV detection.
