David Vera obtained his PhD in industrial Engineering from the University of Jaén in 2013. Currently, he is Associate Professor in the same University in the area of Energy and Electrical Engineering. Previously, he was working at EnergyLab Technology Center from 2013 to 2015. Regarding the research activity since 2009, his work focuses on renewable energy technologies, concretely in biomass gasification and combustion, distributed generation technologies and waste valorization focusing on olive oil industry. The main scientific results achieved during the last 10 years are 23 articles published in prestigious journals indexed in JCR, 4 book chapters (International and national) and 5 international conferences proceedings. He has participated in several research projects (National and International) funded by public agencies and private companies. One of the most important was the participation as a member of the scientific coordination in a European Project (RESOLIVE) funded by the 7th Framework Programme with 1.4M€. He has participated in numerous research projects funded by Naturgy, Inditex and Abengoa among others. Currently, he is the Principal Investigator and Coordinator of an International project (ERA-Net ARIMNet 2) called OLIVEN. Funding of 227,000 €, 3 countries and 5 partners are involved in the OLIVEN project from 2018 to 2020 (Tunisia, Turkey and Spain). Finally, in 2011, he made 4-months predoctoral research stay at the TTZ Bremerhaven (Germany) funded by the Junta de Andalucía, in 2013 a one-month stay at the University of Kean (New Jersey, USA) financed by the University of Jaén and Banco Santander and in 2016 a 2-months postdoctoral stay in Berlin (Germany) at the Advanced Biomass Concepts Company financed by the Junta de Andalucía. Currently, he just finished a postdoctoral research stay at the University of Pisa (Italy) during 4 months under the José Castillejo Scholarships Programme (funded by the Spanish Government).
