Brief Biography (English)

Isabella Venter is an Emeritus Professor in Computer Science at the University of the Western Cape, South Africa.

She is a South African citizen, who obtained her doctoral degree in 2000 from the University of Pretoria. Prof Venter held positions at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), the Faculty of Military Science, Stellenbosch University and the Business School of Stellenbosch University before joining the Computer Science department at the University of the Western Cape.

Until April 2017 she acted as Chairperson of the department and she is currently the Chair of the Management Committee of the Telkom/Aria Technologies Centre of Excellence.
