Brief Biography (English)
Prof Veldsman was born in Eastern Cape and studied at the Universities of Port Elizabeth and the Unversity of Pretoria, and as DAAD Scholar for two years at the Kirchliche Hochschule, West-Berlin, Germany. He completed his PhD on the concept of faith in the theology of Ritschl, Herrmann, and Bultmann. He has been teaching Systematic Theology at the Unversity of South Africa (2000-2007) and since 2007 at the University of Pretoria. His research focus is on the re-conceptualising of religious experience from evolutionary perspectives within the theology-science dialogue.
