Pieter van Zyl is a Professor in Chemistry who Lectures Physical Chemistry on 2nd-year- and honors levels. He also conducts Research in the field of Atmospheric Chemistry.
Prof Van Zyl is currently the Author/Co-Author of > 70 peer-reviewed Research Articles Published in accredited scientific Journals, whereas > 40 post-graduate studies (PhD and MSc) have been completed under his Supervision/Co-Supervision.
He has been and currently is the Principal Investigator in various international Research Projects, as well as in local projects conducted for the government and industry.
Prof Van Zyl is also serving as Convener/Coordinator of local and international research initiatives, which include the Deposition of Biogeochemical Important Trace Species (DEBITS) programme endorsed by the International Global Atmospheric Chemistry (IGAC) project, as well as the IGAC Southern Hemisphere Working Group.
