Brief Biography (English)

Dr Pieter van den Berg is currently the Program Leader of the Diploma in Coaching Science at the North-West University, in Potchefstroom, South Africa. He acts as a Reviewer for two peer journals, as well as being Subject Editor for the SA Journal for research in sport, physical education and recreation.

Dr Van den Berg is particularly interested in research concerning sports/exercise science along with video analyses, Rugby sevens and sports coaching, resulting in eleven peer-reviewed Publications and fifteen Presentations at conferences.

He is Part of a Special Task Team for the development and introduction of the Sport Coaching Degree with the Council of Higher Education (CHE) South Africa. Dr Van den  Berg currently Coaches the South African men's student sevens rugby side who won the FISU international tournament in 2018 and received a silver medal at the student world games in 2019 held in Italy.
