Dr Endurance Uzobo teaches at the Department of Sociology, Niger Delta University (NDU), Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State, Nigeria. He has a PhD degree in Sociology of Health and Illness Behaviour, an MSc degree in Demography and Population Studies, and a BSc degree in Sociology (First Class Honours). He is a member of the International Sociological Association (ISA), Nigerian Anthropological and Sociological Practitioners Association (NASA), Population Association of Nigeria (PAN) etc. He is a two-time recipient of the TETFUND university-based research grant award and has consulted twice for Clearwater Social Empowerment Initiatives, an international Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Lagos. He is the Assistant Editor/Production Manager of the Niger Delta Journal of Sociology and Anthropology (NDJSA). His area of specialisation includes; Population Health, Reproductive Behaviour, and Health and Illness Behaviour.
Dr Uzobo has published and presented papers on these areas of specialisation. Some of his current studies include; Prevalence and coping strategies of postnatal depression among women in Bayelsa State, Nigeria; The lived social experience of COVID-19 survivors in southwestern Nigeria; Social networks correlate to fertility intentions and realization among menopausal women in suburban areas of Bayelsa State, Nigeria; Use of traditional contraceptive methods among women in Nigeria: Does socio-economic status matter? evidence from the 2018 Nigeria Demographic and Health Survey; Trends in sexual violence in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria in a COVID-19 era: A review of newspaper reports. Regional differences in postnatal care service utilisation and child morbidity in Nigeria: Evidence from 2018 Nigeria Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS); Trapped between two Pandemics: Domestic Violence Cases under COVID-19 Pandemic Lockdown: A Scoping Review etc. He is a volunteer with the Nigeria Red Cross Society.
