Dr. Usese is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Marine Sciences, University of Lagos-Nigeria. Dr. Usese has more than 5 years of technical and policy contributions as a researcher and an academic in the field of Ecotoxicology, Risk Assessment, and Remediation. Dr. Usese holds a PhD in Marine Biology, Master of Environmental Management (MEM) MSc. in Marine Pollution and Management (University of Lagos), and a B.Sc. (Honors) in Microbiology from the University of Calabar, Nigeria. Her research focuses on risk assessment/safety evaluation of environmental contaminants, Ecosystem health, and Pollution Monitoring. These studies have produced field-relevant data that have been used by agencies, researchers, private firms, and relevant stakeholders for sustainable environmental management. She is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals, Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) and a Postdoctoral member of the Society of Toxicology.
