Brief Biography (English)
- Chisom Umeileka is a polymer/industrial chemist with an extensive research experience in Sustainable materials and Engineering. She holds a PhD degree in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Port Harcourt, Master's degree in Polymer Chemistry from Nnamdi Azikiwe University and a Bachelor's degree in Pure and Industrial Chemistry at University of Nigeria Nsukka. Her research interests are focused on Sustainable Composites, Barrier coatings, Material and Green Chemistry, Surface modification, Packaging, Tissue, Polymer/Material Characterization, Flame retardants, and new methodologies for optimization of waste to value-added products. She is currently undergoing a Ph.D in Forest Biomaterials at North Carolina State University, US where she develops high performance barrier coatings derived from sustainable materials for high-end applications and packaging.
