Dr Jacob Ulzen has a PhD in Soil Science with emphasis on soil rhizobiology and soil fertility. He has over 8 years experience in field and laboratory experimentation in legume-rhizobia symbiosis and plant nutrition, having worked under the N2Africa Phase 1 and COMPRO II Projects as graduate research fellow. The latter project led to the PhD degree at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana.
Dr Ulzen's research interest includes but not limited to Integrated Soil Fertility Management (ISFM), Fertilizer testing and Evaluation, Biological Nitrogen Fixation in Tropical Legumes, Rhizobia Ecology, Soil-Plant-Microbes Interaction and Understanding and Developing Climate Smart Agriculture technologies, Citizen Science (Tricot) and Participatory methods and Farmer learning Platforms (LP).
