Dr Chinonso Ishmael Ukaegbu is a Lecturer in the Department of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science at Kings University Odeomu, Osun state. He holds a Bachelor of medical laboratory science (BMLS) from Imo State University (ISU) Owerri, MSc and PhD in Biotechnology from Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP). His research focuses on the identification and extraction of natural products of pharmaceutical importance for disease management. His major goal is to promote awareness on the use of natural products as alternatives to synthetic therapies in various disease conditions. He has authored several peer-reviewed articles since 2014 and has supervised undergraduate final year projects. He is a reviewer for several journals, including Journal of Food Measurement and Characterization, BioResources, African Journal of Biotechnology, Medicinal Chemistry Research, Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical and Clinical Research, etc. He is a recipient of the Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) Master and Doctoral Research Grants (2015-2019) and an associate of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
