Brief Biography (English)

Dr Amani J. Uisso is a land use planner, social forester, and natural resources assessment and management specialist at the Tanzania Forestry Research Institute (TAFORI) in Tanzania with over 15 years of experience. He is currently involved in researches and consultancies related to land use planning including land evaluations/suitability analysis, social surveys, climate change, forestry, and allied natural resources assessment and management. He holds a PhD in Forest Science (Forest and Natural Resource Sciences) from Stellenbosch University in South Africa. He also holds an MSc in Natural Resources Assessment and Management and a BSc in Urban and Regional Planning both from the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) in Tanzania. Dr Uisso has done several short courses and attended various conferences and workshops in various fields related to his profession in and outside Tanzania. Dr Uisso has published several papers and he was a member of the editorial board of the Global Change Research Data Publishing and Repository by the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IGSNRR-CAS) from 2017-2019. He is also a member of the CODATA Task Group of Preservation of and Access to Scientific and Technical Data in Developing Countries (CODATA-PASTD) and CODATA Agricultural Task Group in Africa. Dr Uisso enjoys working as a transdisciplinary researcher in natural resource management and conservation arena, and outside his profession, he adores playing and watching football, going outings, and chatting with friends.
