Brief Biography (English) Dr Angela Ogechukwu Ugwu is a Nigerian Haematologist with a strong bias for learning and teaching immunology and blood transfusion. He spent a considerable number of years working and coordinating effective clinical and research programs. He continuously seek new clinical and research opportunities that focus on excellence in performance with the goal of breaking and re-breaking the frontiers of conventionally accepted scientific knowledge.
Dr Ugwu has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals both locally and internationally, as well as in the Cochrane Systematic Reviews. He has been involved in teaching and mentoring junior academics in systematic review and meta-analysis since 2015. He has attended several local and international Cochrane Workshops on systematic review and meta-analysis.
In 2017, he won the American Society of Hematology Visitors Training Programme and spent three months in Institut für Immunologie und Transfusionsmedizin Universitätsmedizin Greifswald, Germany for a training in “Creation and management of an efficient hospital-based blood transfusion system.” Additionally, he has two research grants, one of which I am the primary investigator on.
He has also won the Emeritus Prof Nwokolo award of Academic Excellence in the College of Medicine, University of Nigeria Ituku/Ozalla.
Brief Biography (Alternative language) Je suis un hématologue nigérian avec un fort penchant pour l'apprentissage et l'enseignement de l'immunologie et de la transfusion sanguine. J'ai passé un nombre considérable d'années à travailler et à coordonner des programmes cliniques et de recherche efficaces. Je suis continuellement à la recherche de nouvelles opportunités cliniques et de recherche qui mettent l'accent sur l'excellence des performances dans le but de briser et de repousser les frontières des connaissances scientifiques conventionnellement acceptées.
J'ai publié plusieurs articles dans des revues à comité de lecture locales et internationales, ainsi que dans les revues systématiques Cochrane. Je participe à l'enseignement et au mentorat de jeunes universitaires en matière de revue systématique et de méta-analyse depuis 2015. J'ai participé à plusieurs ateliers Cochrane locaux et internationaux sur la revue systématique et la méta-analyse.
En 2017, j'ai remporté le programme de formation des visiteurs de l'American Society of Hematology et j'ai passé trois mois à l'Institut für Immunologie und Transfusionsmedizin Universitätsmedizin Greifswald, en Allemagne, pour une formation sur la "création et la gestion d'un système efficace de transfusion sanguine en milieu hospitalier."
