Miss Onyinyechi Lydia Ugorji is a Pharmacist by profession. She presently lectures the undergraduates in the department of Pharmaceutical technology and industrial Pharmacy, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She graduated from University of Nigeria, Nsukka where she had her Bachelors and Masters degrees in 2011 and 2016 respectively. Lydia did her PhD program under the sponsorship of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) / University of Nigeria, Nsukka In region / In country scholarship program. She was also a participant of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)/ EARTHS (Education and Research Oriented Training in Health Sciences) summer school held in Hamburg Germany, 2018. She has done several research works on delivery drugs via various novel carriers – Self emulsifying formulations, solid dispersions, niosomes and hydrogels. Most of her researches are focused on Malaria and cancer therapy. She had a rewarding research experience under the supervision of Prof N C Obitte during her MSc program. Her present research interests include improving the solubility / bioavailability of drugs via lipid based formulations, niosomes and liposomes. Lydia is also interested in targeting drugs to the colon for local action. She has presented many conference papers and has several publications in peer reviewed journals.
