Dr Mass Masona Tapfuma a Senior Lecturer at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), Zimbabwe with experience in academic librarianship and publishing. She joined the university in 2007 as a lecturer in the Department of Library and Information Science and left the Department in 2009 to start a new programme in Publishing Studies in the same institution. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (February 2018-April 2022). Prior to joining National University of Science and Technology (NUST), from 1995 to 1998 she lectured in the Department of Library and Information Science, Harare Polytechnic College; she worked briefly at the Southern Africa Publishing and Printing House (SAPPHO) in January 1999 then left to join the University of Zimbabwe Library in February 1999 starting as a Senior Library Assistant and was promoted to the rank of Assistant Librarian until June 2007. Her research interests are largely in scholarly publishing, academic librarianship, open access and book publishing.
