Kehinde Taiwo a Professor of Food Engineering in the Department of Food Science and Technology (FST), Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife, Nigeria. Her research interests are in the areas of Food Process Engineering (physico-thermal factors influencing the processing of food), Gender studies in post-harvest technology adoption, and Industrial Technology Management and policy studies of the Food industry. She obtained a BSc in Food Science and Technology, Second Class Honors (Upper Division), University of Ife, 1980. Prof Kehinde Taiwo has an MSc and a PhD in Agricultural Engineering (Post-harvest processing option) from the same university. Prof Kehinde Taiwo a member of some professional bodies including the Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers, Organization for Women Scientists in Developing Countries (formerly Third World Organization of Women in Science -TWOWS), Nigerian Institute of Food Scientist and Technologists (NIFST), and the Association of Professional Women Engineers in Nigeria (APWEN).
Prof Kehinde Taiwo supervised several postgraduate (MSc, PhD, and MBA) students. My academic research and scholarship have resulted in scholarly publications. Prof Kehinde Taiwo well over 100 publications in well recognized national and international journals of repute and conference proceedings). Prof Kehinde Taiwo a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering, fellow of the African Scientific Institute, and a fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), registered with the Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN).
Prof Kehinde Taiwo won several fellowships, grants (Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung, Germany, Germany Academic Exchange -DAAD, Association of Commonwealth Universities - ACU, Carnegie Corporation of New York, International Women’s Leadership Fellow, IDRC) and awards either to undertake research at foreign institutions or to participate in programs such as Higher Education Resource Services -HERS-SA, The Spring Institute by CASE in the UK, Inyathelo Training Centre, Cape Town, South Africa. She has certificates in Fundraising and proposal writing. She has facilitated several workshops on grant seeking in several institutions within the country.
Prof served as Dean Faculty of Technology, OAU (2014-2016), and Director University Research Office (2017-2018). Chairperson, Campus Aesthetic and Trading Regulatory Committee (CATREC), 2016 – 2018. She was Chairperson, Management Board of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Office (IPTTO), and currently serves as the Director, Linkages & Partnership Unit (2019-to date). She once served as the Branch chairperson of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Ile-Ife. I have served on several accreditation panels and also as External examiners for postgraduate oral examinations.
