Garth Stevens is Dean in the Faculty of Humanities, Full Professor and Senior Supervising Clinical Psychologist in the Department of Psychology at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits). He has been a Visiting Fellow in the College of Arts at Victoria University (VU), as well as a Visiting Research Scholar at the City University of New York (USA). His primary research interests include race, racism and identity; violence and its prevention; power, ideology and domination; community psychology interventions; knowledge production processes; and social asymmetries in a globalised world. He is currently hold a B3 rating as a researcher from the National Research Foundation (NRF), a member of the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf), and also the President of the Psychological Society of South Africa (PsySSA).
