Brief Biography (English)

Dr Conrad Sparks is a Marine and Coastal Ecotoxicologist, focusing research regarding microplastics in the coastal environment. His focus areas are on biomonitoring, ecotoxicology and biomarkers. He has carried out a wide range of research during his career, from investigating the ecology of jellyfish in the northern Benguela, metal concentrations and biomarker research on mussels in Cape Town, imposex in whelks and currently, microplastics monitoring from catchment to coast in South Africa.
