Dr. Temitope Sogbanmu is an Environmental Toxicologist with a research focus on the risk assessment and management of organic pollutants in various environmental media using classic and emerging ecotoxicology tools. She is an active Researcher with several peer-reviewed Journal Publications and Books to her credit. Dr Sogbanmu is a 2014 Awardee of the L’Oreal-UNESCO For Women in Science in Sub-Saharan Africa, an affiliate of the African Academy of Sciences (The AAS), and a Member of the Nigerian Young Academy (NYA). She has served as an Ecology/Waste Management Expert on panels constituted by the Federal Ministry of Environment for Environmental Impact Assessment draft reports review since 2018. Dr Sogbanmu is a Member of the Editorial Board, Integrated Environmental Assessment and Management (IEAM - IF: 3.44), member, Advisory Board, One Health and Development Initiative (OHDI), member, Board of Trustees, the Society for Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Mitigation (SETPOM) and an active member of professional societies including the Society of Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology (SETAC), the Society of Toxicology (SOT), the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), among others. She is an advocate of the UN SDGs 6, 11, 13, and 14, AU Agenda 2063 Goal 7, Science and Risk Communication, Evidence for Policy, and Researcher Visibility for Societal Impact. She is sought after as a career development facilitator, environmental consultant and guest speaker on environmental science advice-related matters. She has delivered invited lectures and facilitated training at Anchor University, Nigeria, Women Advancement Forum International Exchanges, Research and Academia (WAFIRA), Nigerian Environmental Society (NES), SETAC, NYA, SETPOM, Federal Ministries of Science and Technology, Budget and National Planning, Nigeria, among others. Dr. Sogbanmu holds a PhD in Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Management and is currently a Lecturer at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. She leads the Evidence Use in Environmental Policymaking in Nigeria (EUEPiN) Project and coordinates the Environmental Evidence Synthesis and Knowledge Translation (EESKT) Research Cluster, Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) Centre of Excellence on Biodiversity Conservation and Ecosystem Management, University of Lagos, Nigeria.
