Dr Simpiwe Sobuwa is the Senior Lecturer and Acting Head of the Department of Emergency Medical Sciences at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. He is the Chair of the Professional Board for Emergency Care at the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). He is also the Vice-President of the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and chairs its Remuneration Committee. He has published several articles and supervised several Masters and Doctoral students to completion. He holds a PhD in Emergency from the University of Cape Town, South Africa; an MSc Med in Emergency Medicine from the University of Cape Town, South Africa; Higher Diploma Higher Education & Training from Cape Peninsula University of Technology, South Africa); Bachelor of Technology in Emergency Medical Care from Cape Peninsula University of Technology, South Africa and a National Diploma Emergency Medical Care from Cape Peninsula University of Technology, South Africa).
