Dr Phumzile Skosana is currently associated with the School of Pharmacy, Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University and serves as lecturer for both undergraduates and post graduate students. She is a clinical pharmacist by profession. She is the Chairperson of the School of Pharmacy Research and Ethics committee, the treasurer for the South African Association of Hospital and Institutional Pharmacy (SAAHIP) Northern Gauteng and a mentor coordinator for the School of Pharmacy. She holds a PhD in Pharmacy specific to antimicrobial utilization and rational use, a Masters degrees in clinical pharmacy and a Bachelor degree in Pharmacy. She has mentored & supervised undergraduate & postgraduate students in obtaining their degrees and dissertations.
Dr Skosana has published in both peer reviewed and non-peer reviewed journals and presented her work at national & international conferences. Her main research interests include Antimicrobial Utilisation and Surveillance, Antimicrobial resistance and Infectious diseases. In recent years she has increasingly specialized in lecturing on rational drug use, behavioral change and mentorship.
