Mrs Thandazile Sibindi is a nurse educator with close to two decades of experience as a professional nurse and a nurse educator. She holds an MSc Nursing science with a focus on Maternal and Child health, a BSc Nursing science specializing in Nurse Education, a Diploma in Midwifery, and Diploma in General Nursing. Currently pursuing a PhD in Nursing and serving as a research assistant at the UWC School of Nursing, She is deeply invested in advancing nursing education and practice. With a rich background encompassing clinical and academic environments, Mrs Sibindi is committed to developing eco-nursing competencies in climate change for undergraduate and professional nurses, particularly those in primary healthcare setting. Recognising the pivotal role of primary healthcare nurses as the first point of contact for affected individuals, she aims to equip them with the necessary competencies to address the challenges posed by climate change.

Mrs Sibindi is driven by a passion for planetary health and advocates for the nursing profession to take a proactive role in mitigating and adapting to the impacts of climate change. Through her research and educational initiatives, she endeavors to empower nurses to play a leading role in implementing effective strategies to address this global challenge.
