Dr Khumoetsile Daphney Shopo is an Academic Manager: Health Science at the Unit for Open Distance Learning, North-West University. She is also a novice researcher with the focus on improving maternal health outcomes, improving cultural competency of the midwives is another focus of her research. She is an experienced Lecturer with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. She is skilled in Customer Service, Lecturing, Business Process Improvement, Presentation Skills, and Public Speaking. Strong education professional with a Bachelor's Degree focused in Nursing Administration and Nursing Education from North-West University. She has a passion for health information systems and completed a Master's degree in Nursing Science, with a dissertation titled "Nurse's attitude towards a health information systems in a private hospital". She holds a PhD in Nursing Science from North-West University. In her PhD study she developed a learning programme for midwives with the aim of improving their competency while providing maternal health care to women from a diverse cultural background. Dr Shopo is also a lecturer in the Health Service Management modules for Professional Nurses.
