Dr Nicola Sewry is a Senior Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Sport, Exercise Medicine and Lifestyle Institute (SEMLI) at the University of Pretoria. She is a Biokineticist by training and is currently working in the Sports Science and Sports Medicine fields.
Her interests lie in injury and illness prevention. Dr Sewry's previous Research was based primarily in rugby-related research, however, has somewhat shifted to mass participation events, such as marathons, cycling events and triathlons. Their Research aims to make mass participation events safer for all participants, through identifying the baseline risk, risk factors associated and implementing intervention programs.
Dr Sewry Serves on the Rugby Africa Player Welfare steering committee in a Research capacity, assisting in setting up research programs across the continent.
