Dr Hauwa Ohunene Sadiq is a distinguished academic and seasoned expert in the field of aquaculture and fisheries management. She has dedicated her career to advancing the science and practice of fisheries management in Nigeria and beyond. Born and raised in Nigeria, Dr Sadiq’s academic journey began at the University of Ibadan, where she earned her PhD in Aquaculture and Fisheries Management. Her doctoral research, which focused on sex reversal, growth, nutrient utilisation of Tilapia, and other researches on the use of natural sedatives in aquaculture, laid a strong foundation for her future work. Dr Sadiq’s research is characterised by its practical applications and its potential to drive sustainable development in the aquaculture and fisheries sector.
