Prof Ronel Roos is a cardiopulmonary physiotherapy lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. She teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students and coordinates the undergraduate physiotherapy program, postgraduate respirology, cardiology and cardiothoracic course, and a traumatology course.
Her research interests include rehabilitation and exercise for individuals with cardiopulmonary impairments and physical function limitations, which can influence disability and optimize health-related quality of life. She has published nationally and internationally, and her research appears in local and international conference proceedings.
She was awarded the Faculty of Health Sciences Philip V. Tobias Distinguished Teacher’s Award for the Clinical Sciences and National Research Foundation (NRF) C2 established researcher rating.
