Christian Myles Rogerson is Research Professor in the School of Tourism and Hospitality at the University of Johannesburg (UJ). His core research interests focus around three key themes which are local and regional economic development, small enterprise development and the nexus between tourism and socio-economic development in sub-Saharan Africa. He has received various national and international accolades which include among others Fellowship of the South African Geographical Society, Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Top University Researcher (Wits), Visiting Research Fellow Australian National University and Ernest Oppenheimer Memorial Travelling Fellowship. During 2016 he was honored as University of Johannesburg’s most outstanding researcher. He is a Member of the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf).
