Brief Biography (English)
Dr Rodríguez-Román is a Biologist who focuses on ecology and evolution of emerging and re-emerging viruses in a wide range of hosts (i.e., plants, animals, humans, etc.), and conduct the molecular and biological characterization of them, and their respective taxonomic classification. His goal is to determine the phylogenetic history of each virus and the ecological relationships it has with its host, the epidemiological surveillance, and the determination of genomic points with potential in biotechnology, vaccine designs, drug targets, and so on. He is an ambassador of life sciences to different organizations from all over the world.
