Linda Marlene Richter is a Distinguished Professor of the DST-NRF Centre of Excellence for Human Development at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) and Extraordinary Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Stellenbosch University (SU). Her research focuses on developmental origins of health and disease, life course and inter-generational factors influencing child and adolescent health and wellbeing. She is the recipient of numerous awards including the South African Medical Research Council President’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Research Excellence and National Research Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and member of the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf).
