Dr John David Reinecke started career in aviation manufacture of transmission systems and service and overhaul of off aircraft components and engines. Current position is Chief Researcher in protection and off-road mobility. Research and expertise fields includes mechanical engineering, material sciences and related high strain rate and soft materials models, laboratory testing and parameterisation, Trauma Biomechanics and related , Terramechanics and related soil testing and parameterisation, Geospatial Information System terrain data and trafficability mapping, non-linear (hydrocode) and multi-body-dynamics modelling and simulation, protection testing and assessment according to South African and International standards. He hold a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Cranfield University in England, an MSc in Engineering Management, BEng Honours in Mechanical and BEng in Mechanical from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. He's a Chief Researcher at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
