Amrita Ranjan holds a PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG), India. She is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in Applied Microbial and Health Biotechnology Institute (AMHBI) at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT). Her Area of Specialization is on Applied Microbiology, Fermentation Technology; Anaerobic Fermentation, Bio processing , Aquaculture specially algal culture, Anaerobic digestion. She is currently working on valorization of industrial waste, water waste treatment, bioremediation, microalga bio refineries and microbial production of bioplastics. She is also working on problem solving approach towards Energy crisis, She have worked for the Pilot scale production of Biodiesel using Alternate energy source.
