Dr Moleboheng Ramulumo is currently a Senior Lecturer in the School of Mathematics, Science and Technology Education at North-West University, South Africa . Prior to joining North-West University, she was a lecturer in the school of Life Science and Natural Science Education at the University of South Africa's Department of Science and Technology Education. Her dedication to this role is complemented by her pride in being a mother of two boys, which ignites her passion for early childhood Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. She is actively involved in research that focuses on the integration of artificial intelligence into Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) learning, emphasising visual and digital literacy.
During her undergraduate years at the University of Pretoria, Dr Ramulumo had the privilege of representing both the university and women in science within the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences. More recently, her participation in the Young African Leader Initiative enriched her perspective and highlighted her capabilities. Her journey also led her abroad, where she served as a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education Ambassador appointed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE)'s Ministry of Education while working as a science educator. In addition, she made contributions as a Science Education Specialist in the private sector and as a Science Communicator at the Department of Science and Innovation (previously known as the Department of Science and Technology).
A notable milestone in her career is being selected as part of the BRICS Young Scientists Forum and Innovators Prize 2023, a distinction that underscores my unwavering commitment to advancing science. Looking ahead, she is driven by the belief that our collective efforts in education and research shape a brighter future, and she is resolute in her mission to drive meaningful progress in these realms.
In 2023, Dr Moleboheng Ramulumo represented her institution, the University of South Africa at the 15th Conference of the European Science Education Research Association (ESERA) in Cappadocia, Turkey. During this conference, Dr Ramulumo served as a session chair and presented her research on Unlocking the Synergy of Science Literacy and Visual Literacy in Early Childhood Science Education.
Following her participation at the 8th BRICS Young Scientists Forum and Innovators Prize 2023 , Dr Ramulumo received an invitation from the University of South Africa's Vice Principal for Research, Postgraduate Studies, Innovation, and Commercialisation to join a panel discussion at the university's international festival. At this event, she presented on the aftermath of BRICS in higher education.
In recognition of her expertise and contributions, she was also honored with the opportunity to direct a program at a workshop focusing on women's leadership in higher education. Beyond her academic and leadership roles, Dr Ramulumo has been actively engaged in motivational speaking. She dedicates her Sundays to delivering inspirational talks at various churches, motivating students and learners as they prepare for exams and encouraging them never to give up on their dreams, no matter the challenges they may face.
