Dr Inês Raimundo is a Human Geographer with an interest in migration and inclusive growth, climate change, forced migration and food security. She holds a PhD in Forced Migration (2010, University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa), a Master of Arts in Human Geography (2002, University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa) and a Licentiate (B-Honors in Geography 1995, Eduardo Mondlane University, Mozambique).
Dr Raimundo has taught at the Eduardo Mondlane University for 26 years (1995) where she holds the position of Associate Professor and Head of Department of Academic Assurance at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. She is the Southern Africa Commonwealth Geographical Bureau Representative.
From 2015-2019 Dr Raimundo was a Member of the International Science Council-Regional Committee for Africa. In 2019 she received recognition from the Global Challenge Research Fund and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) due to her contribution to UKRI - International Development Peer Review College and a Certificate of Reviewer from ELSEVIER-HABITAT International.
Dr Raimundo has been invited to deliver public lectures in Brazil, France, Germany, Mexico and Portugal. She has some publications in journals in the field of Migration and Food security.
