Brief Biography (English)

Jose Raimundo is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at Pedagogic University of Maputo since 1993. Also is an associate researcher of the Center for Policy Analysis of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of Eduardo Mondlane University since 1997. He taught graduate and post-graduate studies, as researcher Raimundo has coordinated a study on Land Urban Market at the Center for Policy Analysis. For four years, he served as adviser of the constitution of the Center for Interpretation in Matola for the former Ministry of Culture. The center is a memorial in honor of the Apartheid victims in Mozambique. He also contributed to the book of Freedom Fighters of Mozambique: the Niassa front line. Raimundo has supervised Master and graduate students for more than 25 years. In his career, he trained District Administrators and Chiefs of Administrative Posts of Mozambique in the field of Anthropology and land disputes. He has experience in qualitative research methods. The areas of interest area: land access, land use, and land dispute; the history of Mozambique. he has co-authored papers in migration, land urban market, and HIV.
