Mrs Basirat Olabisi Rafiu is a senior research fellow at the Biomedicinal Research Centre at Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria. She obtained a National Diploma Certificate in Forestry Technology at Federal College of Forestry, Ibadan, Nigeria. She then used the National Diploma certificate to acquire a direct entry form to the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. She went on to obtain her BSc in Forestry and wildlife management (forestry option) at the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State. After which, she obtained her MSc in pharmacognosy at the faculty of pharmacy at the University of Ibadan. She is currently applying for a PhD study at North-West University in South Africa to work on the indigenous knowledge system on the use of medicinal plants as biopesticides.
