Dr Masauso Moses Phiri was born in Lusaka, Zambia. He did all his primary and secondary school education in Lusaka, at Makeni Primary School and Kafue Boys Secondary School, respectively. He did his undergraduate studies at the University of Zambia where he did a bachelors degree in Biomedical Sciences. Upon graduating meritoriously, he was offered the staff development fellowship of the University of Zambia. Through this fellowship he managed to do his Masters degree in Chemical Pathology, his did his other MSc and PhD in Biochemistry at the North-West University. His PhD was focused on biosensors using nanotechnology. He currently serve as a faculty member at the University of Zambia, School of Medicine in the department of Pathology and Microbiology. In 2020, he was awarded a Clinical Research and Development Fellowship by the Tropical Disease Research (TDR).
