Dr Cosmas Parwada was born in Buhera, Zimbabwe. He holds a PhD in Agriculture (Soil Science) from the University of Fort Hare, MSc Agroforestry from Bindura University of Science Education, an MBA from Zimbabwe Open University, and BSc Honours in Crop Production and Horticulture from Midlands State University. He worked as an irrigation agronomist in the Ministry of Agriculture, Zimbabwe, a lecturer at the Bindura University of Science Education, a senior lecturer at the Marondera University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, and the Women's University in Africa. He is currently an Associate Professor and Regional Progamme Coordinator for Agricultural Management in the Matabeleland North Province, Zimbabwe at the Zimbabwe Open University. He has published more than 47 articles in internationally refereed journals and his research interests are on soil pedology, soil conservation, soil fertility management, crop physiology, plant biology, and climate change.
