Dr Palaniyandy received PhD in Physics from Karunya University, India in 2012. Currently, working as a senior researcher at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Pretoria, South Africa. Awarded for Young Researcher Establishment Fund (YREF-2017 to 2020), CSIR, South Africa. Currently working on nanostructured metal oxide composite materials for the applications of energy storage devices such as Lithium-, Sodium- and Zinc-ion batteries and supercapacitors.
