Dr Godwin Ovenseri is an optometrist with training in vision science from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa. He hold a PhD in Optometry from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. He also obtained his MPH in Community Medicine and OD in Optometry from the University of Benin, Nigeria. He has been involved in optometric education since 2004 and has trained undergraduate optometry students in Ghana, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and presently in the United Kingdom. Clinically, he had specialist training in low vision and has been involved in upscaling skills of eye care professionals in providing low vision services.
Dr Ovenseri has research interest in public health optometry, vision science, and low vision care. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he teamed up with other African researchers from across Africa as well as Australia and the United Kingdom to conduct research on the pandemic with a view to providing an African perspective to the global pandemic.
