Olumuyiwa Otegbeye is lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) and a numerical analyst with special interest in the development and modification of numerical and computational methods for solving systems of highly nonlinear ordinary and partial differential equations that model fluid flow. The focus of his study revolves around using Chebyshev spectral-based methods for solving the problems and sometimes involves the use of finite difference methods to develop more robust methods. For computational simulations, he have strong interest in the use of Mathematica for rigorous numerical analysis of the numerical methods, Matlab and Python for simulations and obtaining flow profiles. His other areas of interests include developing models that are useful in disease modelling and mathematical finance, in optimization strategies to find optimal solutions in various areas, and in the application of machine learning strategies to maximize the computational efficiency in providing the best predictions in various subjects.
