Dr Samuel Jesuorobo Osifo is the General Secretary of the Academy of Management Nigeria. He is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Marketing and functions currently as the Departmental Head at the University of Benin, Nigeria. He holds a PhD in Business Administration specializing in Marketing Management. Dr. Osifo has served in various other non-teaching capacities at the University of Benin including examination officer, Public Relationship Officer of Faculty of Management Sciences, member of the University of Benin Management Science Faculty Academia-Industry Engagement team, Student course adviser, business editor and member editorial board of the Nigerian Journal of Business Administration, and member of the Management Science faculty editorial board. He represented the faculty at the technical committee on equipment and purchasing and has sat on several other University committees including the Chairman, Faculty of Management Sciences Energy committee, the staff housing and allocation committee, the ceremonial committee, and the computer utilization committee. He has also assisted various Heads of the Business Administration Department as the coordinator of the Masters of Business Administration, MSc/ MPhil Programmes at the University of Benin. Dr Osifo started holding positions at the University of Benin during his undergraduate years as the Public Relation Officer of the Faculty of Agriculture Student Association (1998/1999 session), Masters of Business Administration 22nd Class Governor, (2003/2004 session) and Secretary General, Association of Masters of Business Administration Students (AMBAS 2004-2005). He was the pioneer Ph.D. Class President 2008/2009 set in Business Administration, University of Benin. He started his career in banking and spent over 7 years in sales management in three different Nigerian commercial banks namely First City Monument Bank Plc, Equatorial Trust Bank and Sterling Bank Plc. He functioned as a Personal Financial Consultant and Relationship Manager where he managed people and resources to meet pre-set marketing targets before joining the services of the University of Benin. He belongs to many other professional groups including the American Marketing Association, National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, Institute of Professional Managers and Administrators of Nigeria, and Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria. He has acted several times as collation and returning officer for the Nigerian Independent National Electoral Commission. He is currently the Vice-Chairman of the National Institute of Marketing Benin Chapter. Dr Osifo has over 30 publications in both local and international journals and has presented papers in several conferences in Nigeria and Europe in the area of Marketing. He currently serves on the editorial board of several international journals including Inside Journal and Journal of Finance and Accounting. He is also a certified Teacher in Nigeria
