Prof Osarenkhoe Omorefosa Osemwegie completed his primary and post-primary education in Logos State public schools from 1976 through to 1987. He obtained his BSc in Botany at the Faculty of Science at the University of Benin, Benin City, in Nigeria, from 1988 to 1992.
His interest in being an Educator was heightened by his experiences during the periods of his undergraduate vacations and the National Youth Service Corps. Prof Osemwegie was admitted for post-graduate studies in Botany in the 1993/94 academic session which culminated in the award of PhD in 2010 in the specialized area of Mycology/Plant Pathology.
He became a Faculty Member in 1997 after serving one year as the Herbarium Curator and rose through the ranks to Lecturer in 2003.
Prof Osemwegie left UNIBEN to join Landmark University as a Senior Lecturer in 2010 and has since become a Professor.
His experience in various collaborative Researches, as a Reviewer invited to notable journals, External Assessor and Examiner to neighboring universities, a Member of national universities programmes’ accreditation teams, and university administrations, as well as Management, is extensive. He has also been privileged to have Served on an African selection committee for awards.
