Prof. Samuel O. Onyuma served as a faculty member at Egerton University between 1999 to 2013, where he taught finance and investments courses as well served as Chair of the Department of Economics and Business Studies. He later joined Laikipia University in 2013, where he currently teaches and supervise postgraduate student thesis, and conducts research in the vast area of finance and financial markets. His interest is in analyzing securities market efficiency, market competition and integration, market microstructure development, securities exchange governance structures, regulatory issues and market development in emerging economies. He has spoken at local and international conferences on financial development, securities markets integration, regulation and corporate governance issues. He has authored five academic books, and published over 50 articles on investment finance and African securities markets in international peer-reviewed journals. He consults widely for regional securities exchanges, regulatory agencies and international development organizations, including the World Bank.
